Psychosocial Support Team
Advice & Support
The Psychosocial Support Team of School Psychology Styria offers psychosocial counseling and support in cases of social disadvantage and diversity for students, parents/guardians, school administrators, teachers and school partners. The team includes psychologists, social workers, social pedagogues and educators who have knowledge of the system and experience in working in the school sector. It is made up of mobile and location-based experts with different language skills and intercultural competencies.
Accessibility:
Monday – Thursday from 10:00 to 16:00
Appointments can also be arranged outside these times.

“I work at this school as part of the psychosocial support team of the Styrian school psychology department. My offer is voluntary, free of charge and confidential. I am the contact person for psychosocial concerns for pupils, teachers and parents/guardians and try to respond to the needs of the individual groups and act as a bridge between them. Networking with existing support systems at the school (school psychology, counseling teachers, after-school care, youth coaching, etc.), child and youth welfare services and other social institutions plays a major role in my work.”

- Test anxiety
- Career questions (determining strengths and weaknesses, choosing the right training)
- Conflicts in the social environment (class, home, teachers)

School psychological counseling sessions or examinations are voluntary, confidential and free of charge.

Support
We are educators in the field of emotional/social development who support students, teachers and guardians in dealing with challenging situations in the school context.
We accompany and support students, and place a special focus on student behavior. We work together with students to remove obstacles that impact learning success.

- pedagogical counseling of legal guardians
- Networking between parents or guardians and our school internal and external professionals
- Moderation during conferences with teachers
In this way, we make a significant contribution to quality assurance and to the positive atmosphere of the social fabric in the living space of the school.
