Important information concerning school enrollment and registration
This is how to register:
- Children whose primary residence is in Graz can be pre-registered online. Here you can name the SmartCity Primary School and two further schools of your choice in which one must be in the immediate proximity (radius of 1.500m) from the home address.
- Before Christmas the ABI will inform you per email whether you can enrol your child in the SmartCity Primary School.
Dates and Deadlines
Online Pre-Registration:
2nd November until 12th November, 2022
Pupil Enrollment:
January 2023, exact dates will be announced soon.
Before the enrollment day you will be informed as to whether your child will be accepted into the SmartCity Primary School. You will receive a letter to this affect with all the information and dates concerning the enrollment.

Necessary Documents
When you come together with your child to the enrolment, you must bring the following documents:
- Proof of Address
- Birth Certificate
- Proof of Denomination (e.g. Baptismal Certificate)
- Proof of Citizenship or Child’s Passport or Parents’ Passport
- Child’s E-Card
- vaccination passport
- Pupil’s Registration Paper, provided your child wasn’t pre-registered online
- Protocol of the development discussion of the last obligatory kindergarten year
Online Pre-registration

Before enrollment in January you should definitely pre-register your child already in the November of the previous year. You can also make known at the online pre-registration what after-school care you require
How does the Online Pre-Registration function?
You have the possibility to complete the online pre-registration from the comfort of your home or go personally to the ABI-Service, ground floor, Keesgasse 6, 8010 Graz.
At the pre-registration name the three schools of your choice. One of the schools must be in the immediate proximity of your domicile.
Important: To complete the Online Pre-Registration successfully, you must have a valid email address.
When is the Online Pre-Registration?
The Online Pre-Registration takes place from 2nd November until 12th November, 2022.
